THE PROJECT

The Limited edition release of the Canon AE-1 celebrates 45 years of analog film perfection. This release commemorates the increasing accessibility and popularity of film photography emphasizing the inclusive slogan, "Film is for every AE-1".

Vibrant visuals, paired with bold typography, infuse this campaign with a fun and playful feel, paying homage to the era of the 70s, when the AE-1 was first introduced.

PROCESS

When beginning the idea generation of this project, I experimented with different visual styles that could represent Canon’s brand and legacy. The left two was ultimately the direction I leaned towards because I felt it best depicted the iconic time period of the AE-1 release.

The focus of this campaign seeks to attract new film enthusiasts seeking the distinctive grainy aesthetics that can only be achieved through analog photography. Additionally, it targets individuals who were former owners of the camera and are eager to rekindle their interest in film photography.

The landing page highlights the technical features of the AE-1 in a unique and visually appealing way as well giving potential customers a place to purchase the camera.
